Yacht charter in Monaco: FAQ

How much does a yacht charter in Monaco cost?

Today MonacoTop lists 34 yachts based in Monaco: weekly rates from €36,000, median €110,000, before APA and VAT. Weekly rates typically run from about €50,000 for a 25m motor yacht to €500,000+ for a 60m+ superyacht, plus a typical 25–35% APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) for fuel, provisions and berths. Smaller day charters start lower.

When is the best time to charter in Monaco?

The Riviera charter season runs May to September and peaks in July–August. Book two to three months ahead for summer — and much earlier for the Monaco Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival weeks.

What's included in the charter price?

The base rate covers the yacht and its crew. On top sit the APA (typically 25–35%) for fuel, food, dockage and extras, and VAT at the rate of the country where you embark: 20% from Monaco or France, 22% from Italy. Tenders and water toys are usually included.

How do I book through MonacoTop?

Browse the yachts below and send an enquiry on any listing. The charter broker confirms availability, itinerary and the full quote, with no obligation. The booking is then made on a MYBA charter contract: 50% of the charter fee on signing, the balance and the APA usually four to six weeks before embarkation.

Can I charter a yacht for the Monaco Grand Prix?

Yes — Grand Prix week in early June is the most sought-after charter of the year, with yachts berthed in Port Hercule offering front-row views of the circuit. They book months ahead at premium rates, so enquire early.

Where can I cruise to from Monaco?

A typical day runs east to Cap-Martin, Menton and the Italian Riviera — San Remo, Bordighera, on to Portofino — or west to the sheltered Rade de Villefranche and around Cap Ferrat.

Where can we go ashore by tender near Monaco?

Two beach restaurants are known for guests who arrive by water. Paloma Beach at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat sends a tender to collect guests from yachts anchored in its bay and opens from Easter to the end of September. At Cap-d'Ail, a few minutes west of Port Hercule, Plage Mala lies at the bottom of a long stairway from the road, and its restaurants, La Réserve de la Mala and Eden Plage Mala, can be reached by boat. Book the table before you sail and ask the restaurant where the tender should land.

Where can a yacht anchor off Monaco?

Not everywhere. Monaco closes the Larvotto marine reserve, off its eastern beaches, to all navigation and anchoring, and limits speed to 5 knots within 300 metres of the shore and 3 knots inside the ports. In the French waters on either side, from the mouth of the Var to the Italian border, yachts of 20 metres or more may not anchor in the seagrass zones mapped by the préfet maritime (order 204/2020, amended in May 2025). Larger yachts therefore anchor further out and the tender run ashore takes longer. The captain chooses the spot.
